Really? A new year's resolution?

Ruth -  The sun is shining on this very cold Sunday and the Steelers are still ahead of the Browns at this point.
I was checking my computer and saw that my cousin Renata wrote, 'There still is more good than evil in the world, and we want to focus there. Peace, joy, love is our wish for all of you!"  And that made me think of this morning's Sunday School discussion.  A number of us had read The Book of Joy, which is a compilation of a week's worth of conversation between the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu.  My take-away from the morning is that I want to be more deliberate in expressing gratitude.  Because of the coincidence of today's date, I suppose that could be considered a New Year's resolution.

Snowy day

Beautiful day here.  I’m trying to imagine not living here for a while.

First post from Scottdale

From Jack:  We just returned from our family Christmas. This year we rented a house in Lancaster, PA and everyone was able to travel there for four days. It was a wonderful time of hanging out together, playing games, eating, bowling and catching up on each other's lives.

From Ruth: We go with our children's blessing.  They are curious what our life will be like in Ludwigshafen - and so are we! I know I'll be teaching Syrian refugees German so that they can pass the required German language tests in order to get jobs in Germany.  Jack has been told he'll be helping with the children and with building out a room in the basement for the Mennonite Church's youth.
Neither Jack nor I have ever had a blog so we welcome any feedback, suggestions, and questions.
