Looking back at Easter

You haven't read anything new for three weeks because we've been hosting my sister Rebecca and her husband Peter.  We took off a week from teaching and childcare and traveled with them.  It was great that they also had time here in LU to celebrate Easter with us, see our program, meet our students and get a feel for life in downtown LU.

Here we met Greg, with whom I teach, and Jenny with little Ian as we arrived at our apartment.

Easter service was extra special because Ian was being dedicated.  Big brother Alex was very observant.  Greg's family will be moving back to Canada this June, and no one has yet been found to take his place at Friedenshaus.

The children and youth of the church had some lovely readings and presented the family with a homemade mobile, which Greg is holding.

Instead of an early Easter breakfast, we had the service at 8:30 a.m. and breakfast a short hour later.

Rebecca and Peter got to meet the friendly folk from the LU congregation.

Ian enjoys being handed around and grandma is proud of her grandsons.

This was my table with very pleasant company.  What you can't see is that I ate three boiled Easter eggs!  There were different kinds of breads, cheeses and meat slices, cold salmon, jams, eggs, and lots of coffee.  All delicious! There were no sweet rolls or sweet breads like we're accustomed to.

In the afternoon we visited the Mannheim Tech Museum and had a good time.

Memories -   Our mother had a VW Beetle in Frankfurt and also in Akron, Pa.
